Ampannee Satoh was born in Pattani, Thailand in 1983, she studied Photography at L’École  Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie at Arles, in France (2010) and Master of Fine Art at  Silpakorn University (2013). She based in Bangkok. Ampannee ’s work examines cultural  identity , nation state, faith and individuality by bringing focus to traditional subjects in the  Pattani region of Thailand , her homeland.Her work comprises a wide range of mediums,  including photography and video.

Ampannee ’s work is part of the collections at the MAIIAM Contemporary Art  Museum, Chiang Mai , Singapore Art Museum and National Art Gallery , Bangkok , Thailand. She was awarded the First Prize for  Photography in the Young Thai Artist Award, Bangkok (2007).
